Conjecture

There are three outcomes of the transition to superintelligence, not two: a singleton (one agent wins everything), an anarchic multipolar world (many agents racing with no shared rules) and a governed polycentric world (many agents competing inside shared institutions). Bostrom's doubts about multipolar outcomes apply to the anarchic kind; the governed kind is a distinct option because shared institutions change the payoffs.
