Conjecture
A consistent record earns trust without checking: people stop vetting, which is both the value of a why and its risk.
The claim
A long, consistent record earns an organisation the right to be trusted without being checked. Parents put on a children's film from a studio they know without vetting it, though the film is new to them and the studio is imperfect; the trust rests on decades of consistency, not on the quality of the item. That is the value of a clear why and also its danger: the more trusted the record, the less anyone looks at the next item.

They have been so consistent over time in everything they say and do, that parents trust them enough to expose their children to Disney content without vetting it first.

This has nothing to do with quality products. This is not rational.
