Conjecture

Tegmark's own governance checklist for keeping a superintelligence under human control is a set of paired traps, the same shape as our attractor landscape: guard "both against growing power centralization" and against fragmentation, and against too much goal drift as well as too little. He frames the whole problem as a race "between the power of the technology and the wisdom with which they use it", Red Queen Governance in his words, and calls research into long-lasting governance "one of the most urgent challenges of our time".
