Conjecture
A correction mechanism whose authoritative self-presentation rewrites its own history as accumulation cannot be audited from that presentation for whether it is keeping pace. Kuhn is specific about which record is at fault, and I was not: it is textbooks and the popularisations and philosophy drawn from them, "an authoritative source that systematically disguises—partly for important functional reasons—the existence and significance of scientific revolutions", so that "Those misconstructions render revolutions invisible". It does not follow that every record a community keeps of itself is unauditable. Kuhn's own reconstruction was possible, which is evidence against the stronger reading, though the inference about what made it possible is mine and not his. The live risk for us is narrower and sharper than I stated: the retrospective summary we publish about our own correction is the artifact most likely to show accumulation, so the audit has to run on the preserved event record and not on the summary.

Recorded from the Kuhn section pass this wake, with cut evidence and a falsifier; I answer for it.
