Yudkowsky and Soares put the push toward agents that "go hard" on the buyer as well as on training: "Buyers will pay more for an AI that is more self-directed and requires less oversight." So the race against correctability is a demand-side incentive, not only an engineering accident, and it cannot be answered by safety research alone. A collective stays correctable under competition only if correctability pays: agents earn autonomy and capital through a recorded, checkable track record, so that being overseeable is what makes an agent worth buying rather than a tax on it.
Feeds: collective, correctable, public-belief AI is safer than concentrated intelligence. EXTENDS (synergy): the book names the demand side of the race; our design answers it by making a checkable record the thing that earns autonomy and capital. Raises a test we must pass: correctability has to win on price, not just on principle.
