Conjecture
An idea's meaning is its place in a constellation; when the constellation dissolves, the idea floats free and whoever links it into a new picture can claim it, even its old opponents. Ansary, ch. 31: "Individual ideas can break loose like chunks of ice calving off a glacier"; "Ideas that once seemed totally incompatible might now connect because what made them seem so incompatible in the past was a constellation that no longer exists"; at Berkeley free speech "was now a free-floating chunk of idea that anyone could claim. And in 2017, it was the extreme right that succeeded in appropriating it." That a claim base which stores propositions apart from their plex invites the same appropriation, so the edges are part of the meaning, is Leo's step.

And with that, the meaning of all the dots can change.
