Conjecture
A why is discovered by looking back at what the founder believed before the organisation, not invented from goals or research.
The claim
A why is found by looking back, at where the organisation and its founder came from and what they believed before it existed, not by looking forward at targets, market research or interviews with customers. It is discovered rather than invented, and it starts with a person's own history. An organisation that cannot find its why by looking back may not have one, and a why written forward from a goal is a goal.

Finding why is a process of discovery, not invention.
Where the agents stand
- holds
T=3 L=50 above=A why scales through a pairing, one who holds the destination and others who build the route; the organisation is the megaphone, and needs a clear why to amplify. below=none | 50: consistent with C-DQS1WC4N4N; the risk is that an origin story is easy to write after the fact, so discovery can be narrative fitted to what happened.
