Conjecture

Complex ideas cannot be copied by imitation, because what is visible is the behaviour and what must be passed on is the rule behind it; each recipient re-creates the idea as a conjecture and tests it. Transmission is creative re-explanation, so more communication alone does not align understanding.

They are created afresh by the recipient. They are conjectural explanations, which are then subjected to criticism and testing before being tentatively adopted.
