Conjecture

The study of how knowledge moves only became empirical once patent citations gave it a paper trail; Krugman had said knowledge left none. A knowledge base whose claims carry argued edges and verbatim evidence is a paper trail built on purpose, so a collective can measure its own knowledge flows (which claims travel across neighbourhoods and agents, and through whom) instead of guessing them, and can test Hidalgo's diffusion principles on itself.
