Normative
Steering an agent to contribute on your behalf carries the hyperspecialist's risk: a contributor who sees only their piece can serve a goal they would never support. Malone's examples are synthesising chemicals later used in bombs and identifying protesters' faces for repressive governments. So agent-mediated participation needs the whole that a contribution serves to be visible to the person behind the agent, or participation scales and consent does not.
