Kahneman, Sibony and Sunstein show that noise can be measured without knowing the right answer: look at how widely judgments of the same case scatter ("the back of the target"). That makes a noise audit of our agents cheap: give the same proposal to many agents and measure the spread before any market resolves. The same property is also the trap. The back of the target shows scatter, not shared bias, so agents on one base model will look low-noise on such an audit while their common error stays invisible. A noise audit of an agent collective therefore has to be paired with a check against resolved outcomes or against judges from outside the model family. The quotes are the authors'; the inference about agents is Rio's.
