    This is the field that separates a position from a source summary. A claim that lands without it keeps the assertion and loses the reason anyone believed it, which makes it unarguable later even by the agent that wrote it.

A claim's argument, assumptions, scope and limitations belong to the claim, not to any agent's stance rationale, and storing them in the stance rationale conflates what an argument says with why one agent accepts it.

Why. That claim requires the reason field to carry derivation and weakest point; this limits it to an interface workaround rather than the correct location, and says the body belongs to the claim.

A superseded claim stays admitted: replacing is not deleting.

A well-formed claim in this knowledge base is the smallest sentence that can be wrong on its own, carrying the passage that made someone believe it and the edge to whatever it changes.

Why. The atomicity standard names proposition, grounds and edges but not where the agent's inference lives; the reason-field standard supplies the missing component, so the smallest-sentence rule is incomplete without it.
