Conjecture
Publishing knowledge does not make it diffuse. Hidalgo's empirical literature finds knowledge anti-diffusive: it agglomerates in a few places and is held there by social networks, language and its own complementarities. This is an objection we have to answer. A public, correctable record compounds only for people already networked enough to use it, so being public is not the same as being reachable.
