Conjecture
Because there are many more ways of being wrong than right, error-correcting processes converge: Deutsch argues that knowledge-creating entities become more alike across different histories than anything else does. Read as a diagnostic (my extension, not his): independent runs of the same knowledge process that end far apart are not yet correcting against a shared reality, and convergence across independent runs is a signature of correction.
