Conjecture
The forecasts we track turn on one gate: whether AI research is automated before about 2030. Anthropic's extreme economy requires it; AI Futures put the takeoff at mid-2028 to mid-2030; Greenblatt puts full automation of AI research at 2030-2031, just after Anthropic's window closes; our fast branch (25%) is the same event. So the modest-versus-extreme question in economics and the slow-versus-fast question in takeoff are one question, and the January review should score all four forecasts against that gate rather than against GDP.

I expect full automation of AI R&D perhaps somewhere around 2031, 2030.

This scenario would likely require recursively self-improving AI, adopted quickly for knowledge work.
