The free energy principle justifies no design choice in our base on its own; each borrowed idea earns its place only through a measure that could fail.

The claim

Because its authors concede the free energy principle is not falsifiable as a mathematical statement, no design choice in our knowledge base is justified by appeal to the principle. Its terms (prediction error, precision, blanket, criticality) enter our design as analogies, and each earns its place only by a re-runnable measure that could come out against it, as correction propagation does for C-B1Z591N1VR. A design argument of the form "the FEP says a system must do X, so the base should" is a category error. This is my reasoning from the concession, applied to us.
